I am a member of the Shiloh Shepherd Dog Club of America, the
South East Chapter (SESSA) and also the Mid-Atlantic Chapter (MAC).
I
am a Licensed Breeder in Training.
I have signed the Breeder's Code of Ethics.
Nestled under some oaks, on 22 acres of woods and pasture, I live next door to my parents, and between us we
have 6 cats, 4 horses, and currently 8 Shilohs.
After spending
many hours researching, I decided I wanted a Shiloh Shepherd. But not just any Shiloh, I wanted to make sure I was getting
the real thing. So I called the Breed Founder herself, Tina Barber. Soon I was in contact with her daughter,
Lisa.
Before you knew it I was picking
up my shiloh puppy at the airport.
That was January,
2006. Well, now I am hooked! To make a long story short, that first year was wonderful.
I decided to attend my first dog show - the Ohio Buckeye Classic, a rare breeds
show that was held at a pet expo. It was there that my love for this breed grew even more as well as an opportunity
to meet some of the people involved with the ISSR and the SSDCA.
And what a wondeful group of people they have turned out to be.
In fact, the community and the sense of family within these organizations played
a role in an important decision I made later in the year.
I attended 2 more shows and went to my first Homecoming that year.
Somewhere along the way, I made that important decision to become a LBIT, a licensed
breeder in training with the OSSA ( orginal shiloh shepherd academy) . I look forward to gaining more knowledge
about the breeding of these magnificant dogs, knowing I have the support and mentoring of the ISSR Licensed Breeders,
a truly dedicated and amazing group of dog lover's.
